Who I Am As A Candidate:

I am an independent candidate who was facilitated in filing by the Political Choice Party of Utah, a newly formed party which, through hard work, managed to get on the ballot statewide. To file as unaffiliated, my original intent, required my getting 300 legal registered Weber County voters signatures on a ballot and, being a lone, grassroots candidate, that task was too daunting. The Personal Choice Party means what the name implies. It places no restrictions upon my personal platform. That suits my intentions perfectly, because, if elected, I will represent all of the citizens of Weber County with an unbiased administration of the public trust. That is the duty of an official. The citizens are, in truth, the government. Government is not some artificial creature to rule over citizens, it is the framework within which the citizens mediate their differences and provide for the common good. Elected officials only represent the collective voice of the citizens in a democracy. They do not represent party or other special interests which differ from the general will of the people. That is why I am running for office and who I am as a candidate. I am volunteering to faithfully represent the collective voice of the citizens of Weber County.

Why I Am Running For Office:

I ask myself the age old question: if not me, then who? I believe in the democratic-republican government to provide a platform whereby Liberty can be enjoyed by all citizens. For that form of government to work properly, citizens must participate and some must be willing to faithfully represent the general will of the rest in the republic setting without personal bias or for the purpose of personal gain.

What I Offer The Voters In My County:

I offer the citizens of Weber County at large an unbiased management of public affairs without a personal or party agenda. I believe in searching for the most efficient and cost effective manner of accomplishing any task that is undertaken. I also believe that the general public should not pay for the wants of special interests that will burden the many while benefiting only the few. I will not allow unwarranted expenditures while I am in office and I will work to lessen the tax burden in any manner possible which will benefit the general citizenry while burdening the few.

What Personal Choice Means To Me:

Personal choice is another way of saying freedom to choose and act which is known by the names of Liberty or Agency depending upon the group of citizens you are with. Liberty has a high price: it does not come cheaply! Liberty is only to be had by those who are willing to pay the price in time, effort and, yes, in blood, sweat, and tears. The conditions of peace, tranquility, and equity that all citizens of this great nation could be enjoying today have already exacted a fearsome toll from those patriots who loved Liberty. All citizens could enjoy the Blessings of Liberty if they would but assume personal responsibility, if they would but make the personal choice to live as Liberty requires. It is a way of life!

The Issue Most Important To Me:

Equity is that issue. Weber County is in the midst of a large shift in culture. Most view the influx of Spanish-Speaking peoples as the major and most troubling culture shift, but the most problematic is the economic culture shift. Weber County has areas that are becoming as Jackson Hole, Wyoming or Sun Valley, Idaho because of the immigration of economic power. Many of the current residents cannot compete and will be forced out by rising property values, taxation increases, unjust restrictions upon necessary activities, et alia. These are items that a strict adherence to or institution of equitable solutions can manage while providing the best life the County has to offer for all.
