I AM FOR LIBERTY --- FOR MYSELF, FOR
YOU, FOR UTAH, AND FOR MY COUNTRY!
I am Roger I. Price, a native and
current resident of Huntsville, Utah. I am a candidate for the
office of Utah’s United States Senator in the 2006 election. I
seek to serve the People of the Free State of Utah. My
personal crusade is Liberty and my goals are Freedom, Justice,
and Equity without discrimination. I ask for your trust, your
support, and your help.
The development of current events leaves me with no recourse
but to run for the office of Utah’s United States Senator. The
United States Supreme Court makes rulings not in keeping with
our Constitution, i.e. the recent ruling on Eminent Domain.
The executive branch of our government burdens the citizens by
heaping regulation upon regulation and exercising privileges
that it does not have granted to it by the Constitution, i.e.
the current "war" in Iraq. To assume that I am against war,
when necessary, would be a mistake. However, the time for
justified war against Iraq was at the time of Iraq’s invading
Kuwait. To that end, the Constitution clearly states (Article
I, Section 8) that "The Congress shall have Power . . . To
declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make
Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water; . . . ." In a
letter to James Madison, Sept. 6, 1789, Thomas Jefferson
wrote: "We have . . .one effectual check to the dog of war, by
transferring the power of letting him loose from the executive
to the legislative body, from those who are to spend to those
who are to pay." No unnecessary loss of American Warriors is
acceptable. The military can never justifiably be sent into
battle with one hand tied behind its back. A Declaration of
War with orders to do anything needed to bring a swift and
complete defeat of the enemy, a Declaration mandating the
total destruction of the enemy’s will and ability to fight
with the least amount of American sacrifice is the only path
to follow. All of the political posturing, sanctions, "no-fly"
zones, etc. since the end of Desert Storm can be viewed by the
world, at large, as bullying and oppression.
Since the end of WWII, our Congress has abdicated its
responsibility for the current conditions of Government by
miring itself in meaningless power struggles not in keeping
with our Constitution and by passing laws circumventing the
Constitution, i.e. the War Powers Act and the Patriot Act. As
a free citizen of the free State of Utah, I am tired of:
– Watching my inalienable (natural) Rights and those of my
fellow citizens being victimized, negated, and stolen;
– Watching my nation’s abundance being bled by international
and multi-national corporations with the help of my
Government;
– Watching the slow, unceasing erosion of my Country, my
Rights, and this Land called America by foreign bankers and
investors, by the United Nations, and by the World Court;
– Watching the unwillingness of my elected representatives to
honor, obey, and enforce my Constitution of the United States
of America;
– Watching legislation passed and court rulings made based
upon a "conservative" or "liberal" agenda, not the
Constitution, the Supreme Law of the Land;
– Watching the higher institutions of criminal learning
(prisons) being overcrowded and violence and hatred growing
uncontrollably assisted by the unconstitutional legislation
negating inalienable Rights and codifying religion based sin
as crime;
– Watching Public Education become a training ground for
subservient, obedient, bureaucratic servants, corporate and
government, instead of free thinking, independent and
self-sufficient United States Citizens, and watching those
students who will not accept authoritarianism being forced
out, or dropping out;
– Watching independent farms and businesses being regulated
and taxed into failure while corporations receive up-front
government funding and tax incentives, forcing the failed
bastions of free enterprise into the position of serf to feed
corporate feudalism;
– Watching a growing social and economic class system eat away
at my nation while power brokers encourage it and utilize it
to elect agreeable officials, appoint friendly judges, and
line the pockets of the world’s wealthy at home and abroad, as
well as their own;.
– Watching et al.
I will watch no longer!
By running for the office of United States Senator, I can
honestly vote for an honorable man who loves his Country and
Liberty more than life, that man being myself. I know that I
will defend, to my last breath, my United States Constitution
with its guarantee of my own Freedom, my own Liberty, and my
own Right of self-determination. I can, without reservation,
guarantee that I will fight as tirelessly for the equal Rights
of all Utahns as well as the Rights of the Free State of Utah.
I draw justification from the unheralded, ignored, and mostly
forgotten Ninth and Tenth Amendments to the Constitution of
the United States of America. Those two Amendments reserve and
guarantee to the citizens and their respective States all
Rights not specifically granted to the Legislative, Executive,
and Judicial branches of our Federal Republic’s governing
body.
It is "In Order to form a more perfect Union, establish
Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common
defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings
of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity," reasons clearly
stated in the Preamble to our Constitution, that I campaign.
I invite everyone to visit my website,
www.rogeriprice.com,
to read my view of, and my stand concerning, various issues.
It is a work in continual progress being updated regularly as
I receive questions or new issues come to my attention. I do
not practice or condone complaining without offering
reasonable proposals for remedy. Our Union of Fifty Free
States is to be governed by consensus, not ruled by political
parties, royal families, wealthy barons, other special
interests, or foreign authorities.
To retain and insure our freedom for ourselves and our
posterity, we citizens of the United States of America must
learn to practice, not preach, Justice and Equality. We must
learn to respect one another as equals, understanding that
each individual is a necessary member of our society and that
each person has views and opinions that are sacred to him or
her. Although we are a diverse peoples, we must become united
in the cause of Liberty. To that end, I seek to become your
United States Senator.
